Sophia's Birthday!

Yesterday was Sophia's birthday, she's a big 5 year old now! Just like last year, her birthday morning started out with frost all over everything outside, so we had to go out and see all the pretty sparkly frost.
After breakfast we opened some presents, which climaxed with this camera. Isabella got one of these cameras for Christmas last year and Sophia has been wanting one ever since. Luckily for her, I found one after Christmas on clearance for about 1/3 of what I paid for Isabella's, and it has been in hiding ever since then :) She finally got it and was very excited!

And Sophia's came with a much coveted camera bag!
Soon both the girls had thier cameras out and Alexander felt like this...
Again, luckily for him, while digging Sophia's presents out of hiding the night before I had found this toy camera that I got for his birthday and forgot to give to him, so he got a camera for Sophia's birthday too.

After presents and playing we decided to head to Cici's pizza for lunch, which was much enjoyed by everyone.

Grandad sent Sophia a birthday card with $5 in it, so she had the emense pleasure of spending that money after lunch. Faron had the brilliant idea of going to the dollar store, so Sophia was able to buy FIVE things with her money. It was quite a fun trip. Alexander and Isabella managed to end up with a toy too, only at the dollar store...

Apparently once we got home I stopped taking pictures, but we had a nice evening too. Sophia's other birthday presents were fun bath type stuff, so the girls took a nice long bath after dinner and then Sophia got to pick a movie to watch before bed.
It was a sucessful birthday, and now the count down to the birthday party is in full swing.

12 on 12

Well, it's time once again for the monthly 12 on 12, a challenge to take 12 pictures of your ordinary life on the 12th of the month.

This month we happen to have our first major sickness of the winter. Alexander looks like this, isn't it sad? He is feeling better than a couple days ago though. And we discoverd a new wonder cure (at least it worked this time, so I guess that's not exactly proof that it's a wonder, but it's worth a try) Green Tea, dropped in the eyes for pink eye. We did it for Sophia at the first sign of pink, knowing that she had been exposed to pink eye, and after 2 days it was gone and never got any worse than a pink tinge. Alexander has been getting it a little longer, but I think his eyes are more effected by a cold than pink eye, but we've done the tea just in case.

This is the pretty Hawthorne tree in my front yard, pretty red berries.

Welcoming the pretty fall colors. This is the view out my bedroom window.

Arianna chilling in my bed, before she jumps up to say "see, see" so she can look at herself on the back of my camera. It made it difficult to actually take the picture, since she wanted to see it before it happened!
While I was fixing lunch Ari wanted to get a head start, so she took off her own clothes, pulled a chair over to her high chair and climbed on in.
and it paid off for her!
Pretty roses the kids picked and brought in for me.
Nothing like hiding in the pantry...

This is what was left after making and freezing 4 apple pies, and canning 2 quarts of apple sauce. More apples still to go, but that was all I could deal with right then.
This is how Faron get's the mowing done most of the time, can't leave anybody out.
Arianna in her cute pink dress and her camo rain boots. Hmmm does she have an older brother?
Sophia sipping from her "glass cup" curtousy of the local thrift store. Quite a thrill though.

Well, there you have it, another month's addition of 12 on 12.

Buckner Family Photos

While Grammy and Pop were away, we met up with "the boys" to play and such. We also took an hour or so to try to get a family picture taken. Nehemiah was not so hip on the idea though, so most of the pictures are nice, except for Miha's face!

Kaleb was adorable as always.

This was the last picture we attempted, and it just cracks me up. Angie's face, trying to deal with the 3 boys, and all their faces.

I love this one, baby feet always get me.
