Mr. Mom

Nikolas isn't fond of being put down, so that seriously limits what I can get done during the day, or ever really.  Because of this Faron tries to hold Kole whenever he can, so I can get stuff done, or just not be holding him.

Sometimes we use the wrap, here is Faron sporting the wrap while making some bread.

Then, the other day we were eating dinner and Faron decided to try out a wrap of his own.  He just put Kole down into his overalls.  It worked pretty well, Kole stayed there for quite some time.  Now there is finally one thing that those overalls are good for!

Monday was Arianna's 2nd Birthday!  It was also the 12th, which means 12 on 12 where I take 12 pictures of my every day life and post.  There were plenty of things to take pictures of on this 12th!

Ari slept in, so when I finally let the kids waker her up they went and sang "Happy Birthday" to her.  She wasn't convinced it was time to get up, but I told her to come see her balloons and that got her up.  Grammy got her the balloon bouquet Sunday, and the kids and I blew up the other balloons and had them on the stairs for her to walk through.  The kids are singing to her again as she walks down.

We had Ari's party the day before at Grammy's house, so while Ari was sleeping the big girls helped me unpack all her presents and put them out on the table for her to see again.
As soon as she came in the kitchen she started playing with all her presents.  Here is the drawing board Grandma and Grandpa got her, it's a cute snail :)
I got her a space blaster gun like Xander's from Christmas.  She likes to steal his and try to play with it, so I figured they could play together now.

Playing with her mini cabbage patch kid and horse.  If there was sound, you  would hear her screaming "giddy up, giddy up!"  She's a very loud child.

She is also wearing a different outfit because she saw some of the clothes she got.  This one came from Auntie Tenna, she had another one on before this too, but it came off before I got a picture.
Grammy got her a mini cake with her name on it, we didn't cut into it at her party they day before, so she got to eat it at lunch on her real bday.
Cutie Nikolas smile.  This was the only 5 minutes of the day that he was awake and happy to be not in my arms, but he enjoyed it for those minutes.

It snowed really hard for about 15 minutes at dusk.  Ari was still napping but the other kids are the colored splotches you can see way down in the yard.  The wind was blowing so hard the snow was falling sideways, so they only got to stay out for about 5 minutes.
Ari is growing up fast, and she's a beautiful happy girl.  A lot of thought and prayer goes into the names that we give our kids, Arianna Ilaria means Pure, Holy and full of Joy which are all things we hope Ari will be, right now we are definitely seeing the full of joy part!

Here is a better smiling Nikolas picture.  He actually smiles quite a lot these days.  We started back to school this week and he is having to learn to be put down.  He's not fond of it, but he was much better Tuesday than he was Monday, let's hope that trend continues.
He noticed his socks and started trying to get them, mismatching though they might be.
Saturday it was really warm here, like mid 50's I think.  We didn't realize it until it was too late to get much play time in, but the kids did get to go out for a few minutes.  This was Kole's first time being outside and not in his carseat all covered up.

Since we were outside, there were trees to be climbed.

The most fun part of climbing trees, the dismount.

And the landing, well, almost the landing, the end of the landing was falling pretty much flat, but he did jump right back up

Ari doesn't climb trees yet, but she sure had fun running around enjoying being out of the house
