Oreos

Mint flavored oreos, to be exact.
The kids had a lot of fun with them. Ari enjoyed her first oreos immensely.

after a while Ari noticed that everyone else was dipping so she squalled at a cup of milk until she was allowed to dip also.

Climbing

Arianna has discovered the joys of climbing, cause ya know, my life was slowing down a little too much. So now, about a hundred times a day I pull her down from the kitchen table, either a chair or the actual table. She also likes to climb up on the piano bench and play piano, or find the step stool in the kitchen and take it to the counter top then climb on it and see what she can find.
Also on a climbing note, Alexander discovered today that if he dumps out the shoe box he can stand on it, grab the rail going up the stairs and climb the wall, mountain style until he gets to the ledge.
Neither of them have bled yet today, so I think that's a success.

Isabella's Birthday Party

Oh, where to begin? It finaly came, the day Isabella has been counting down to, party day...
Faron took her to breakfast while the other kids and I decorated so that she would walk in to the house being all ready.we started out the party with a little painting craft. We had paper mached water bottles and put beads on the top, transforming them into dolls to paint. I think the kids had fun with that, getting all painty is always fun.
There are so many varieties on "pin the tale on the donkey" these days so for this party we had "Kiss the frog" where you had to land your lip print kiss on the frog, hoping it might turn into a prince I guess. My favorite part is the sleeping eyes on the mask
just a little peeking going on under this mask of Sophia's :)
Especially love the eyes on Pop
This is Arie, isn't he cute playing the guitar?!
If you were at the party you've already heard this speech, but for the rest of you... At this party there were 2 Isabella's, 3 Alexander's (technically 2, plus one Xander, but still) and 2 Ari(e)'s
now if that's not crazy I don't know what is! So if anybody wants to move a name to the top 10 list, just let me know what it is and we'll pick it for the next kid, that will assure that it will go from obscurity to popularity over night!
After lunch and a little outside play time, it was finally cake time. Here are Isabella's cakes she requested. Not the best cakes I've ever made, but she was happy with them, as was every other little girl there, so that's all that matters really.
the singing of "Happy Birthday", which Alexander has now been singing for weeks
and then on to present time!
Opening and Opening!
This was defiantly the best for Isabella! Grammy and Pop bought Isabella this doll that she's been wanting since before Christmas, then they had it shipped to Grandma's house and she made it clothes! She also made Isabella a dress that matched the doll, Isabella is busting with glee.

This chair is another big hit, from Aunt Lora and Uncle Lou. All the kids love it.
Finally, the Pinata. This time we got one with the strings to pull instead of having to bust it open. It went a LOT faster, but they still had fun with it.
I think this picture is funny, the boys are watching in Awe as the candy continues to fall out, the girls are down on the floor scooping up that candy!
After the party Gabe and Angie and the boys hung out for a while, here are Nehemiah and Alexander jammin out to Gabe playing ukulele. They were both dancing while eating, and singing on occasion.

Isabella gave us a fashion show with her new clothes
Reading time.
playing with the boys. Alexander appreciates his abundance of boy cousins.
It was a good party over all, I think every one had fun, and left tired!

Isabella's Birthday!

Today Isabella turns 6!
We started our morning with the Beatles "Birthday" then breakfast and presents!
All the girls were very interested in the new barbie toys. Isabella is wearing a necklace on her head, I don't know why...

Alexander kept getting yelled at for "raaaaring" his elephant into the new barbie toy, eventually he got kicked out.
After our co-op classes we headed to Oak Park Mall for the carousel and the Rain Forest Cafe, our birthday tradition around here.

Wednesday is kid's night, so there is a balloon tying guy :)
Ari was having a great time with the french fries!
This is when they brought out the cake and were singing, thus the look of death Isabella is giving.
After they were gone all was well and she was very excited about her Volcano cake. Alexander yelled "Volcano" all night the same way the waiters did when they bring it out.

We had a great birthday and are counting down to the party!
