Sophia's Birthday

Sophia had a very fun and busy birthday yesterday. The day started out with getting to eat a special birthday cake that Papa made for her.

Then we went outside to see the beautiful frost on everything. It was very pretty and shimmery out.

Sophia said that these roses were all glittery.

Then she got to open her presents before we headed to church.

The church had sent her a happy birthday postcard, and if she took it with her she could get a free hot chocolate at the coffee bar, so Sophia had been anxiously awaiting that for days, she even wanted to sleep with her "drink card". Finally she got her hot chocolate and enjoyed it very much.

After Church we played at Burger King's play place while Faron taught his bible study at the retirement center, and then had our traditional birthday dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. I used Anna's camera to take pictures at both of those places, since it is much smaller and easier to carry than mine, so I will have to post them another time.

She had a great birthday and is looking forward to her party Saturday!

I just love this picture from the recent Buckner visit.

walk in the woods

Saturday we took a trip to the state park we live beside for a walk through the fall-ness. They had an old church and school house that we got to look at and the kids ran all through the fields and trees. We never even made it to all the great trails through the woods.

I love the reflection in this picture.

Alexander did lots of collecting things and stuffing them into his pockets.

Happy Fall

We took all the kids out to visit Grammy at work this week, and to pick out some (a million) pumpkins.
Everybody got to run around the garden center and look at everything that there was to look at, and ride the golf card, which is the most important part of visiting a garden center if you ask the kids.

Levi found this bird bath full of rain water and had a great time getting himself all soaking wet.

I walked into the room at Grammy and Pop's house and Alexander swung around in the high backed computer chair to reveal himself, wearing Pop's glasses and with a flosser hanging out of his mouth.

family fun

We've been playing too much to blog this week. Anna and Levi are here on a visit and they have been staying at our house for about a week. The kids are having fun (little boy territorial issues aside) playing together and getting to know Levi.
