Last week we had our Valentine's day party at our Homeschool Co-op and I'm finally posting some pictures.
Our church's "theme" this year is "Relate" emphasising our realtionship with God and with others, so our party had the same theme. And along those lines, each kid under 5th grade was paired up with a kid over fifth grade and they "realted" during the party by being partners in everything that happened.
First off, there was a contest to see who could wear the most red and pink.
Here is Isabella and her partner.
Whole lot of pink going on.
Isabella and her partner were in the top 3 girl teams so the won a humongo hershy bar.
The teams each made a bag to put valentines cards in. The bigger kids helped the little kids make their bags, so they had to work together and the bags were judged by the pastors for creativity, good use of supplies and team work. Here is Sophia and her partner.
One of the games they played. One partner put a dixie cup on their head and the other partner had a straw and a q-tip. The straw was used as a blow gun to try to knock the cup off the head. It was a very fun game, especially to watch!
Isabella and her partner making their bag.
A three legged race. Very fun.
Sophia and her partner won 2nd place ( I think) for their bag. Sophia got a McD's gift card and her partner got a QT card.
It was a lot of fun for the girls (Alexander didn't want to go, he wanted to stay home with Papa. He said "I like parties, when they are at MY house)The leaders put a lot of work and thought into the party and it was a big hit.
